      Niagara Falls

      ONTARIO, CANADA

      Niagara Falls is situated on the Niagara River, which drains Lake Erie into Lake Ontario.

      The falls straddle the international border between the United States (specifically, the state of New York) and Canada (specifically, the province of Ontario).

      The falls were formed during the last Ice Age as glaciers receded and water from the Great Lakes carved out the Niagara River. The falls are essentially a series of three waterfalls: the Horseshoe Falls (Canadian Falls), the American Falls, and the Bridal Veil Falls.

      Niagara-on-the-Lake is a charming town in Ontario, Canada, located near the mouth of the Niagara River where it meets Lake Ontario.
