Carly, who is the owner of wedding planning company Milkglass Productions in Denver, had a very special vision for her winter engagement session in Vail. For these Vail engagement portraits, the attire really set the tone of the day! Carly accented her gorgeous gown from a&be bridal shop with an adorable white fur jacket, which perfectly reflected the wintery atmosphere of our shoot. Comprised of bright red florals, Carly’s bouquet matched the Christmas mood and popped against her white gown.

Her fiancé, Tucker, looked equally festive in a black corduroy jacket paired with a patterned green tie and herringbone pants from Banana Republic. Of course, not just any shoe would do for these Vail engagement portraits! Carly chose a pair of black boots that were both fashionable and functional—perfect for walking about in the snow.

Holiday-Themed Winter Engagement Portraits in Vail

Our first shooting location was Laughing Valley Ranch, which is located just 30 minutes outside of Denver. The llamas and reindeer that live on this ranch helped us create some truly unforgettable portraits! Tucker, our groom-to-be, could have not been happier as he interacted with the animals. Carly and Tucker got to walk the llamas and reindeer around for a bit which allowed us to create some really fun images. Needless to say, we were all in high holiday spirits after waving goodbye to the reindeer at the ranch! Next, we staged an evening tea-time in front of the dramatic Rocky Mountains. During these shots, Carly and Tucker drank warm coffee and tucked into a mini cake from Button Rock Bakery.
