TIPS FOR CREATING CLASSIC COLORADO BOUDOIR PORTRAITS

      CHEROKEE RANCH & CASTLE, CO

Do you want to create a special present for your spouse? A Colorado boudoir session might be the perfect gift! Colorado has many hotels and venue spaces that are suited for taking classic boudoir portraits. Maybe it’s because I’m originally from Bavaria, but the Cherokee Ranch and Castle is one of my favorite locations. This Colorado castle offers a variety of different rooms and provides the perfect backdrop for capturing romantic boudoir photographs. For Anna’s Colorado boudoir portraits, we selected a pretty blue room decorated with a classic wooden bed and pale blue bedding. Coordinating wooden chairs added extra visual interest to Anna’s elegant poses.

Where to Find Unique Lingerie for Your Colorado Boudoir Portraits

After you’ve decided on the perfect location, it’s time for the really fun part—selecting your lingerie! I suggest choosing unique and luxe pieces that will give your boudoir portraits an elevated look. A boudoir session isn’t an “everyday” event, so it’s worth spending a bit of extra time selecting pieces that will wow your spouse. Anna began our session in a delicate white lace lingerie set. Later, she changed into a black lace bodysuit that exuded sophisticated sensuality. To find special pieces of your own, I suggest shopping at Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, or Agent Provocateur.

      Hair, Makeup, and Floral Details

Hiring a professional hair and makeup artist is a wonderful way to ensure that you look and feel your best during your boudoir session.

Occasionally, my clients also commission special floral pieces for their boudoir portraits. Sarah chose to incorporate flowers into her session and the results were breathtaking, as you will see below. For the first part of her boudoir session, Sarah’s wedding florist, Liz from Siloh Floral, crafted a gorgeous centerpiece in shades of purple and dusty rose that we moved throughout different rooms of the castle.

During the second part of her session, Sarah paired a pretty lilac headband with black lace lingerie from Veronica Shaeffer. For her next look, she donned high-waisted black shorts with a flowing white robe. Last but not least, Liz created a stunning bouquet for the conclusion of Sarah’s session. The loose, organic styling of the bouquet paired beautifully with our bride’s final two looks—an ultra-elegant grey bodysuit adorned with white lace and a two-piece white lingerie set.
