I was thrilled to document Marco and Katharina’s stylish engagement session in Munich, and even more honored when they asked me to photograph their intimate elopement in Munich as well! Katharina and Marco are a super modern couple.

It didn’t surprise me at all that Katharina chose a very contemporary yet elegant gown for her wedding. Her sequin-covered dress had a fabulous matching capelet that made for to-die-for portraits. What fun! Funny as it may seem, Katharina actually found her wedding dress while traveling in the States. It was created by Chicago-based designer Alyssa Kristin, who is known for her simple yet elegant and modern wedding gowns.

The dress Katharina chose for her intimate elopement in Munich fit her perfectly. Katharina’s look was further enhanced by a beautiful bouquet from Munich floral store Blumen die Leben, which means Flowers are alive in English. I was delighted about the fact that her florals were from my favorite flower store! Marco’s simple grey suit complemented Katharina’s sophisticated attire perfectly.

Since both Marco and Katharina are from Bavaria, they wanted to capture the true heart of Munich and we made it a goal to shoot at as many iconic locations as possible. A big wedding party wasn’t important to them. From castles, to parks, to buildings in downtown Munich, they simply wanted fine art photographs of themselves in the city where they fell in love.
