FASHION-FORWARD ENGAGEMENT AT VIZCAYA MUSEUM AND GARDENS
FASHION-FORWARD ENGAGEMENT AT VIZCAYA MUSEUM AND GARDENS IN MIAMI
Melissa and Steven live in the warm and vibrant city of Miami, Florida. Both will actually get married this summer in another of their favorite places - Colorado - on a stunning Vail mountain wedding deck, with their reception to be held at the Four Seasons in Vail. While they can't wait to get their pictures taken in the mountains, the couple decided to have their engagement shoot right at home, at the gorgeous Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami. That way they get the best of both worlds: memories from their hometown of Miami and their destination wedding in Vail. For their very special photo session, Melissa and Steven wanted their engagement to be fashion-forward and romantic, just like the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens themselves.
THE VIZCAYA MUSEUM AND GARDENS IN MIAMI
The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, previously known as Villa Vizcaya, is located on Biscayne Bay in Miami, Florida. This estate once belonged to the businessman James Deering, who engaged an incredibly talented team to build his mansion. The early 20th-century Vizcaya estate includes jaw-dropping Italian Renaissance gardens and lush, natural woodland landscape. Veneto and Tuscan Italian Renaissance models influenced the landscape and architecture throughout the Vizcaya Estate. The Museum was also designed in the Mediterranean Revival architectural style, incorporating Barouqe elements.
ROMANTIC ENGAGEMENT SHOOT AT VIZCAYA MUSEUM AND GARDENS
For their perfectly fashion-forward engagement shoot at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, the couple put a lot of thought into their outfits--right down to the details. For the first part of their engagement session, Melissa donned a stunning black lace dress, while Steven complemented her in black pants, a stylish jacket, and a white shirt. Let’s not forget Steven’s fashionable shoes and Melissa’s elegant, long black earrings - a fashion match made in heaven! Together we explored the beauty of Vizcaya and enjoyed the breeze drifting in from the seaside on this Florida summer day.
For the second part of their engagement session, Melissa and Steven switched up the color theme. Gorgeous Melissa wore a red lace dress with matching lipstick and long silver earrings. Her handsome “groom to be” dressed in black trousers paired with a unique turquoise jacket and fabulous blue dress shoes. Steven also wore a small red lapel pin to match his pretty wife-to-be. With both dressed in such bright and striking colors, I chose a very neutral backdrop at first-- a secluded rock cove. There, Melissa and Steven truly stood out in their outfits. I then chose a background that matched their outfits by using the Vizcaya steps, which offer a soft surface of reddish paint.
I can’t wait for their stunning and stylish celebration in Vail, where I’ll be able to pick my role up as a Colorado wedding photographer. The couple will be celebrating their intimate destination wedding with their beloved 80 guests. The intimate affair is being planned by their fabulous wedding planner and my friend Jennifer from Gemini Events.
